All Souls Christian Church began in 1990 as a home
fellowship, called appropriately The Home Church, which rotated between the
homes of the two teachers, Larry Lucas and Evan Wilson. We had and have no definitive
secondary doctrinal stand and believe ourselves to be only a part of the Church
of Jesus Christ in Moscow. We desired to meet to sing Our Lord’s praises,
enjoy the company of the saints, and to hear expositional teaching from the
Holy Scriptures. As the group slowly grew we took on the name Free Church of
Moscow and other locations became necessary. We met in the American Legion Cabin,
Logos School Auditorium, and a day care center. During these wanderings Larry
Lucas, with the blessing and prayers of the fellowship, left to start another
home fellowship. Finally in 1999 we found that the Avalon House, a conference
center, was available on Sunday Mornings. Given that this had been a church
many years ago we were grateful for something that fit our needs precisely.
In 2002 due to confusion of our fellowship with our brothers in Christ in the
Evangelical Free Church, we changed our name to All Souls Christian.
We have no formal membership as everyone who has passed from death to life by
the grace of God is in the Church. Everyone who attends our services regularly
we consider to be in the All Souls fellowship even if they attend and belong
to other fellowships as well.
